I cannot get mp3_extract to run so I thought it'd be neat to have a little QuickBMS script that does the job.

Do you mean fsbext with the -M option to split the multichannel mp3 in multiple files instead of dumping only 2 channels (default)?

Whoops... Well... yeah, basically that *gg*.
On another thought, I've once encountered multichannel mp3 files that played correctly in winamp without any plugin, so that could be an option for fsbext. If I could remember which game that was! No chance to find it among my 5,500 game rips... :/

There are probably a couple of standards or semi-standards for multichannel mp3, I checked them some months ago but they don't have many information and examples available.
