Convert "Gran Turismo 4" Music files

Post by NightHawk »

Hello folks,

The Music of Gran Turismo 4 is stored in ".asf" files. I tried to convert them with "MFAudio", but the output is either just pure digital garbage or if by pure chance I type in the right offset value the music is noticeable but very "crushed".

I remember many years ago I was able to extract all the music to .wav files no problem. But I can't find anything on google anymore. Other people have managed to rip the games music as well, but I can only find it in mp3... From what I remember, the actual audio was lossless from the game-files so i'd like to rip in .flac or .wav

You found a way to extract the files of Gran Turismo 4 with proper names? I know I extracted the contents of that game with PSound, mostly for sound effects. Think you can provide us samples for each file type? It would do us some good.

None have a proper name. You have to preview-listen the files in PSound manually. The files are stored in GT4.vol
When scanning the file in PSound, the music tracks start at "gt4.vol | 22060" (At least for the japanese release gt4.vol)

Well, then try renaming the files manually or with an advanced renaming program.
