Hi there, could anyone help me extract the .dir files from The Simpsons Cartoon Studio? Help would be very appreciated!

That's Adobe Shockwave.

Since the format is just RIFF/RFIX you can use this script for extracting the raw data:
http://aluigi.org/bms/shockwave.bms
It will probably give you an error at the end.

It worked. Thanks. It Stopped working at 97% which is fine as it extracted all sounds and images. In folders as follows:

BITD = for 16-bit images
Snd = for Sound

The file type however is now .dat

How would i extract/open the .dat files now?

310.dat is the texture
10091.dat is the audio file.

EDIT:
Using Diropener and Adobe Director i've managed to extract all the contents i needed.
