I need A Archive Extracted anyone up for it [Killing-time]

Post by markkk »

Hey, I need some help here.
I got a archive which is a .rez archive that's part of the Killing-time PC fps game.
And I am making a port of this game but I need the map files out of this archive that's all I need
I found the forum where someone had already extracted the textures and sounds but never offered the map data aka "map files"
I tried asking but the guy has not been online for 3 years now so yeah Kinda stopped in my tracks on the port.
But that's what I need is someone to get the map data from the archive I am providing with a link to the "KillingTime.rez"
If , someone succeeds with getting the map files out of the archive please link me to the files thanks.

Any, help I get is much appreciated by me strongly.

I have just updated the script but I'm not sure if the compression algorithm is correct since the archive doesn't have filenames and doesn't have text content or known formats:

I just tried your script it worked but it found 398 files
but they extracted the files in ".dat file format"
anyway if you can get it to extract the original filenames in the archive that would be awesome
much appreciated "aluigi" I hope you can get the filenames fixed if you can do that it would make me so so so happy man
you have no idea.
Again thanks so much for your help so far.

Unfortunately there are no filenames in the archive and the formats are unknown so I can't help much.

Thanks, for your help if you find out anything else on this archive post it here.
Oh, I also found out using a hex editor it has a signature "brgr" that is the Burgerlib Library http://www.burgerbecky.com/burgerlib/docs/hierarchy.htm
I think that could hold some info on the compression algorithm maybe this info can help you understand it more to extract the contents from the archive using the original filenames.
