PS2 mmf

Post by kenji »

can anyone help me with this its a graphic from the ps2 game international cue club,it is mmf format but that is a sound format
from old mobile phones. The game also has sound files which are vbs format which is actually text and graphics, i ran it through multi ex and it converted it to the correct mmf. The graphic should actually be vbs format.
I have attached one copy of each file.

the rif file is a ps2 adpcm file you can listen to in mfaudio. it's a stereo file but i can't figure out the interleave length real quick. on 0x400 it sounds correct but the left channel cracks, which is potentially not mixed by the spu assuming it's streamed during playback (vbs = variable bit stream) even. you may have to decode it with this area padded or skipped or interpolated then.

the clogo seems nonsense. it contains multiple FLA files/extensions. the widths and heights are there, but it does not show up in any form. i'd lean me out the window and say it's macroblock coded images or animation even plus the transform coefficients (like jpg / mmf = mpeg macro or multi media file), decoded by the ps2 ipu. i can't really help with that. i can only picture raw palette images, maybe a lil shuffled. beyond that, not so much.

btw both files were flagged a threat by defender. whether zenhax has a untrusty image delivering web files or the 7z may be a unsafe container. i mean i know it's generally just data that is not executable, but the flagging gotta be avoided. try to upload as a rar file pls. gotta be tested.

Thank you for your very helpful reply.
I've checked all the riffs and all the other audio mmf files and they all play perfectly with the interleave set at 0x400,
i didnt notice the left channel cracking.I think you're right about the clogo being macroblock coded images,i will take into account what you said about 7z and upload as rar in the future.
Thanks :)
