The Sims 2 (PS2) VAG. How to replace these?

Post by frogz2007 »

I found out the Sims 2 for PS2 uses VAG files, but I can't get custom VAG files (converted from WAV to VAG with MFAudio) to play at a normal speed. Depending on each song, it will play either too fast, or too slow.

You should convert your music to the same sample rate that was in original file. Or find where sample rate in stored in game files and change it accordingly.

I figured out the sample rate the game music uses is 48000 (opened one of the music files in PSound and forced it to play at 48000 and it sounded like it should in the game).

EDIT: I set the hz to 48000 on a MP3 file, and set the PCM to 16 bit, exported as a WAV, converted to VAG, reimported it and it worked perfect.
