Monsters, Inc. (PS2) Music

Post by frogz2007 »

I was wondering if somebody could figure out the music format, so custom MP3 files can be converted into the format and played in the game? I need this. Thanks!

It's the Playstation ADPCM, VAG (try MFAudio).
I think it's probably a known format ("STRM") so wait the answer of someone with more knowledge.

Hmm. I tried with that program, and it seems to not read the file, and it ends up breaking all the other sounds as well. Very odd.

I was able to listen the music from the sample you provided.
Obviously it's just a test because the stereo vag files need a manual field to be set correctly but it worked.

Hmm. Not sure if I understand. I used MFAudio and converted a WAV to a VAG file, changed the extension to .KS, and re-imported it into the game ISO. Then, I get to the part where the song should play, and it doesn't for some reason. My goal is to basically have custom music playing in the game itself.

Ah no, I tried simply to play the file from mfaudio.

Oh, I see. I just hope this can be figured out, since it would be awesome if the music could be replaced with other things.
