Dirge of Cerberus Final Fantasy VII

Post by obesebear »

I wanted to create this topic as a request for help. For quite a few years myself and others have been trying to find a way to extract the Dirge of Cerberus models. This topic http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f ... 7&start=45 at Xentax seemed promising, but unfortunately nothing really ever came of it. And now that they're requiring payment to sign up... no thanks.

Recently, I took it upon myself to use what few tools I have to try and rip something from the game, and with the help of cheat engine and 3dripperdx and a lot of patience and luck, I finally had some success.

The problem is, these had to be pieced together from a front and rear capture of the model. UV's had to be fixed, colors corrected, camera positions tweaked, the list goes on and on. To describe it as a headache is a massive understatement. Yet they still aren't perfect, and corners had to be cut.

I'm hoping that by showing the progress I've managed, someone with the right know how will come along and finally decode the file format.

That's cool. Can you teach me how to get this model from the game? Do you have tutorial or tutorial video?
