Bloodborne msgbnd.dcx and DLC files

Post by The_Reaper_CooL »

Hello there people!

I'd like to translate Bloodborne. I can extract the item.msgbnd.dcx and menu.msgbnd.dcx files easily with the latest Bindertool, but I can't pack them back in. Is there a repacker for these files?

Also where can I find the DLC's text files? I've the Game of the Year Edition, but I don't think the DLC is on the disk, or I don't know where to look (also an unpacker and repacker would be good for those, too)

Okay, I got the DLC's files and I can also extract them, now I just need a way to repack them into FMG files and then into msgbnd, and msgbnd.dcx afterwards.

Any idea on how to do that?

Have you already tried the scripts to Dark Souls? Should the same format or very similar, so Acewell can easily update his scripts to this game.

Well that's how I extracted them, didn't try to repack them.

My problem right now is with the FMG files, I can extract them with BinderTool, but can't repack them. After that I'd try out if I can repack everything, so putting back the FMG files into the msgbnd, and then into msgbnd.dcx. And the next step would be to create a PKG file for my PS4 to include the modified files, but I think that's another story :D

Here you go, all of the FMG files. Note that these are engGB files, and there are also engUS ones, but I think that doesn't matter too much, filestructure should be the same I guess.

Any luck with the FMG files? Or are the editors that work with it? I can't seem to find any...

Same structure of the Dark Souls files...
Upload the msgbnd.dcx file and some other that have *.tpf files, I'll try implement the import feature on my Dark Souls Remastered tool and add support to Bloodborne.

Here are the msgbnd.dcx files, both the engUS and engGB ones. I don't think the *.tpf files contain any textures like location names and such, but here are the ones I could find (there are a lot more, but I think these should be enough).

The msgbnd.dcx files are attached, the *.tpf ones can be found here -> https://drive.google.com/open?id=1CRSNR ... 5F6wl2qKbr

Well... the full FromSoftware tool will take a while to be ready, so I decided make a tool just for FMG files...

See Readme.txt for instructions.

Notes:
Based on file samples and not tested ingame.
Should work for Dark Souls Remastered and BloodBorne games.

No. Demon Souls use Edge compression and (I think) quickbms don't have support to this compression.

Do you have any detail and link about this "Edge" compression?

I'm really not sure about that, I just found EDGE instead DEFLATE on compression field on that dcx files, looking on internet I found a discussion about that, but i can't find the link right now... but they was talking about the PS3 SDK sources.
