opening the files in the RE7 pak files and modding them

So basically ive been doing a side project with resident evil 7 on pc. Ive been trying to figure out what these files are in the pak files in the main RE7 folder and how to read them. They consist of letters and numbers. But idk what they are. They could simply be weapons or enemies or background. Ill include a pic so you can see what I mean. I tried HxD Hex Editor and it can read these files. Its weird, Its alot of meshes and backgrounds for the house and old house and knife and pistol meshes and barriers. I haven't read most of them maybe just 5 or 6 of them. Some make sense and then there are files that are just 50,000 lines of nonsense. Is there anyway to mod these files? Maybe make the pistol stronger or the shotgun? Ive already tried asking for help on the resident evil modding forum and had zero answers. No one seems to know. I remember someone figured out the mad max archives on zenhax so maybe someone knows something I don't.
