Are there any tools to convert these into a usable format?

Here is a blend file to import gpl files from "s505a_m0.zip".
Need : Blender version 249 and Python version 26x (both 32 bits).
Double click file "Blender249.blend" and in Text Window press alt+p.
I don't have this game , so was tested only on 5 files.
*.skn files don't supported - to complex

Here is a log from skn:
