Sly Cooper PS3

Post by toystory2wasok »

Hi, Sorry if this has been posted before but i wanted to try to mod Sly 1 possibly and found the script for the E3 demo and it works with the PS3 version but the level files have no extension. Has anyone managed to do anything with these files?

For sure compressed with a lzss-like algorithm but don't know what exact algorithm.
The lack of a decompressed size field doesn't help.

Are there any other files that I could upload that might help?

Honestly I don't know if it's worth to make any other "move" because I already scanned the compression algorithms on the first few bytes of the file with the -e option of quickbms (a way to get uncompressed data from incomplete input) and got nothing matching the expected unicode string "button" ("Press START buttont").
What I mean is that without the compression algorithms it's useless to do anything.

Ahh okay one more thing would you be able to tell me if these use the same compression? They are from Sly 2 and the 20mb one is the level not sure what the other is.

Z is compressed, B not.
You can clearly see that with a hex editor.
