New to QuickBMS [Xanadu Next]

Post by Zerite »

As the title says I'm completely new to ripping in general. I was wondering if anyone could run me through the process of getting model files and importing them to blender for the game Xanadu Next. I have QuickBMS installed and the script for the game, I just don't know how to go from there.

Run quickbms.exe, select xanadu.bms, select the file with DIR extension, select the output folder where you want to extract the files.

I don't know what will be the format of the files so I'm moving the topic in the 3d section where hopefully someone will have more info

Much appreciated. I've gotten mostly .mtn and a couple .chr files.

From what little I've found it seems the .chr is what I want to open but stuff's saying it's for cryengine. Downloaded that and still can't open it. Starting to think I'm not going to be able to do this, if anyone has any insight it would be appreciated.

These are all the file's I got when I used QuickBMS on the player.dir file for Xanadu Next. P_0000A & B are originally in the same folder. From what I've found .chr is supposed to be used in cryengine so I downloaded that but still wasn't able to open them. I was hoping to convert them to open in blender but google's failed when I searched how to try that. If anyone has any idea what I'm doing wrong I'd really liked to know.
