Talisman group.bin files

Post by reinartz42 »

Hello there,

I was interested in modding this game, maybe a slight skill change first, then a monster change, finally rule changes. I found this forum as the "only" result on google.

I've successfully unpacked the dragon expansion .dz file. With the vector.bms found here.
However, inside are files like Fire_Wizard.group.bin that I can not seem to extract or look at with notepad++. I've searched and found talisman_prologue.bms and tried both options 1 and 2 with that. I'm getting this error every time:

Incomplete input file
Last line before error:
23 get OFFSET long

I've tried a couple different things, such as selecting all character files, that produces the same error rather I try to extract one file at a time, or all of them.

May I please receive some help with this? I'd like to try to mod the game if I'm able to. I suppose the real trick will be successfully repacking after I change a 3 to a 4 and actually seeing a result ingame.

The whole expansion .dz is too large to attach, and I'm not sure that's okay so I'll attach the Amethyst_Dragon.group.bin card for us to examine.

Thanks ahead of time,
aluigi

This is not an archive, it's just some data, probably a texture with a small header at the beginning.

Hmm, thank you for checking, I guess the hero data is hardcoded in the dll. Probably can't mod this game.

Thanks again for your time,

Hello, has anybody succeded in decrypting talisman group.bin files into images ?
Or could someone advice me any software which could analyze content of any file (ignoring headers etc.) for an image in arbitrary format ?
