Trying to make QuickBMS scripts for PS2 Avatar games

Post by flipdark95 »

Hey there. I'm trying to extract models from the PS2 Avatar games. There's a thread on XenTax that also deals with the issue, and some people on there have made scripts that can extract some the file formats for the games, but they only reliably work for the first one and I'm trying to get the better quality models from the 2 later ones.

https://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=8719 (The thread on the PS2 Avatar games)

There's a few tutorials I've been looking at to try and learn how to make my own extraction scripts for the file formats the games use to keep their model files, but I'm not a scripter or coder at all, and I don't have much experience in it at all. So I figured I'd post here and hopefully get some help.

Here's a link to a sample RCB file (the files that hold the model data) from the 3rd game, Into the Inferno, if someone wants to open it up in a hex editor.

Thank you for your time and any assistance or suggestions.
