Sly 3's sly3.wad encryption?

Post by tiniestmoterboat »

Hey! I was told to ask here from XeNTaX(Original post: http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=15670 ) since the BMS script for sly 1 and 2 was written by Aluigi.
I already searched around and couldn't find anywhere that had a method of decrypting sly 3's sly3.wad file.
And I did try searching the game's binary for references to the decryption routine by searching for 0x01A3 near 0x181D in the assembly(and visa-versa, both big and little endian versions). I don't know much about assembly so I could be wrong or missed something.
Anyway without typing anymore since the rules seem to state "getting right to the point is good", without further blabbing, the assembly + 10MB of sly3.wad: https://mega.nz/#F!OMljHKiS!I8oHfPmGFRRBSUwn7lIr_g

Currently I can't work on this and the script is very long.
If someone wants to make the work, I will implement it in the script.

I am sorry if this is significantly late, but have any developments been made decrypting sly3.wad?

I don't know but some versions of the game work well with the current script:
