[PS2] Crusty Demons - ARCHIVE.IMP

Post by Mysteri0n »

ARCHIVE.IMP seems to be an archive containing the game files and ARCHIVE.XML seems to contain a filelist of files contained within ARCHIVE.IMP. I can't seem to understand the file format at all. This format appears in Crash 'n' Burn (PS2), too.

Here's a sample:-

EDIT: Crash 'n' Burn seems to have different files, sort of (no ARCHIVE.XML present):-

Excellent works perfect! Very much appreciated, amazing work!

I don't suppose a method to recompile the archive would be possible, would it?

Recompiling not.
But the script is valid for reimporting, read section 3 of quickbms.txt

Anyway for the archive with the xml index it's very simple to append your new files at the end of the original archive and then modifying the lines in the xml to match the offset and size of the new files. Just remember to set "Compression" to "none" and "CompressedSize" equal to "FullSize".

Ah right okay, that's awesome, still!

Thanks for all your help! Just posted in the Game Models forum about Shenmue MT5 files, if you get around to looking at that.. good luck! :)
