Polyphony Digital Sample Thread
Here is a sample from Gran Turismo HD Concept. There might be other games developed by Polyphony Digital that use this kind of format, but anyhow...
EDIT: And here's a sample from Gran Turismo 2000.

The format of GT4.VOL is not very clear, probably already exist other tools.

Re: Polyphony Digital Sample Thread
Oh, I almost forgot.
Here are two samples(one of which there is a .bms script included) of their first game called Gran Turismo(PS1). These files came from the American demo of said game.
The "SIZE2" variable refers to the "decompressed" size, but I don't know how the decompressed data should look like... although some archive files such as TITLE.DAT has SIZE1 and SIZE2 as the same value.
EDIT: The gt-arc.bms script is updated. The script still continues extracting the compressed files as is, however a folder directory has been added for them.

And finally, here's a sample from Gran Turismo PSP. I couldn't help it.
But to elaborate, it seems to be some kind of an encrypted archive.

2-day bump. Perhaps I need to know more about compression if I want to crack the format used for Gran Turismo.

Okay, here's an sample of Gran Turismo 2. Do keep in mind though that this file came from the Japanese Demo version, but I think the final version uses this same format.

Re: Polyphony Digital Sample Thread
Okay, now I`m done with my GT2.VOL script. The script itself can be found in my thread.

Re: Polyphony Digital Sample Thread
Okay, I finally completed the script designed for Gran Turismo 3, along with anything Polyphony Digital has ever developed for the PS2(although those are untested at the moment).
I`m going to prepare my script for release.
EDIT: The script in question can be found in my thread.
