Madagascar *.RWS
Hey I'm trying to rip the .rws substreams from Madagascar. I tried and it works with MFAudio but I have all of the songs in one file (cutscenes, intro..) and I would like to seperate them. I tried to scan these files with PSound, ADPCM Player.. but found just 1 file.
Samples: (expired)
Thanks if you can help me.

Re: Madagascar *.RWS archives
You can open the RWS files as raw compressed ADPCM, 22050 Hz, 1 channel (Mono) with MFAudio.

Re: Madagascar *.RWS archives
Unfortunately the RWS files have ever had lack of support.
The first problem is the format that is not just a classical archive, it's a sequence of chunks of data (example http://rwsreader.sourceforge.net/).
The second problem is just the lack of just one format, there are differences between some games and so it's difficult to make "one tool to rule them all".
Another resource is http://oezmen.eu/gameresources/ (bs3.zip)

I tried to check the GC and Xbox versions and the music uses a different codec.

Re: Madagascar *.RWS archives
Probably yes but it's not us.
All your posts are about:
And those work-around that I provided were not enough for you.
All your posts are about:
- raw audio embedded in information-less archives without details about them (samplerate, channels and so on, nothing)
- an archive (rws) that doesn't have a fixed format and the only extractors available are those made for some specific games
And those work-around that I provided were not enough for you.

I think that nobody is looking at this thread so it's not necessary to bump everytime or I need to lock it.

If someone is still looking at this thread, Foobar with VGMStream plugin can open PC version RWS.

Re: Madagascar *.RWS archives
Can you upload some dsp examples? I'd like to see how the header is constructed. Doesn't seem all too difficult to get single streams after some tests with a script I wrote.

Uh, why doesn't "padding 0x10" work here when I try to get the file names?
QuickBMS states the names as

Well, that's now what OP was after - he wanted to extract the substreams from the RWS files - a much harder endeavor...
