Fallout Shelter localization files

Post by The_Reaper_CooL »

Hey there!

I've extracted Fallout Shelter's files (PC version), and they are stored in resources.assets, in a -5 file.

If anyone could make a tool for it (like the one made for Punch Club), then I think everyone would be happy.

Thanks in advance! :)

Also the game is free on PC, you just need the Bethesda.Net Launcher and an account for it to run.

My try.

Unpacker makes .csv file (semicolon separated values), but packer supports also .tsv (tab separated).

It's in the resources.assets file, and there you can find it inside the resources_00001.-8 file.

Yeah, but how can i extract these file? The tool is only for -5 file. :/

EDIT: I extract the -8 files with this tool FS_Tools_by_MerlinSVK but, extract all the language in same file. Can i extract only english like the other tool -5 file?

EDIT2: After pack with Merlin tool, was create one new -5 file, and i rename for -8, import and start the game, but it's crash and close Fallout Shelter. At least for pack, i guess. Any clue?

The formats are the same. Rename the "resources_00001.-8" file to "resources_00001.-5" and use swuforce tool.
Ps:That tool is very very very... ...very slow and work hiden, you must wait until the "NEW_resources_00001.-5" file be created, rename to "resources_00001.-8" and check if the game work's.

So I'm sorry, I did not understand how I can get the file back to the game format. I can extract the files using the Unity Assets Explorer and then the tools described in this topic (falloutshelter_texttool.7z, FS_Tools_by_MerlinSVK.7z) but I can not compress them again. The game is without text and when I open the file I edited I see that all the content is in a line. I do not know anything about the translation procedure but I have enough to learn. From what I saw it seems that there is another tool to compress and return the edited file to the game. Thanks to anyone who can help me with this problem.
