Here are the samples for the PS2 version(and one for the Xbox version).

EDIT: And here is a new version of the .img file, used in that San Andreas game(in that there is also a index in the same file). I've also managed to pick up the rest of the files too. Again, PS2 version.

All these formats already long times as analyzed and fan-made tools for it was released. Look gtaforums.

Huh. I've only heard of them so maybe I'll just give those tools a try.
