Converting/Changing music for Burnout Legends (PSP)

Post by AnthonyBF2 »

I am interested in changing the sound tracks for Burnout Legends for PSP, I believe it is possible from my observations but don't actually know how to go about doing it.

In the folder "PSP_GAME\USRDYR\music" there are 23 files, each sized at 1 - 2 megabytes, with the .mus extension. I looked at the files in hex editor view and the first four bytes are RIFF and starting on the 8th byte you'll see WAVEfmt. This information tells me the game uses the wave format, which possible is changed/compressed into what ever the .mus format is.

My goal is to learn how to take just any .mp3 file, and convert it so it can be used on the game to replace the default songs. Thanks to anyone for any help.
