Dead Space Series Font (.tg4)

Post by Sunn »

I wanted to translate the game, but all the game's fonts are not supported any character in my language.
I found that they're using tg4 format for displaying the font, but I have a very low understanding of how to editing them, maybe by hex editing or some tools?

I tried to convert one of them into DDS using Noesis tool thanks to the people who provided it, and here is the result:

Could anyone help me with this?
Thank you.

The font type is DXT 5 (BC3), just use RawTex (You can find it by searching) with these settings mentioned in the print.
You can edit using any editor, and when compressing back, you use paint.net, nvidia texture tools to convert from PNG (suppose) to the same DDS format (but you have to specify which format it will be), and insert the new DDS via hxd or any hex editor.

Thank you for your reply, OAleex!
Here is my update from my understanding.

I edited the font manually using Photoshop and converted them back to tg4d, then replaced the game's text and file.
The visual result is fine, but the problem is my language has too many characters, and I don't know if there is a way to create them from the ground up.
There is a INF file which I believe that it is the character coordinates for the font.

Do you know how to create them, like converting the bitmap font?
I am sorry if these are the basic things to know, but I'm really clueless right now.

Send me a sample of what the source coordinate would be.
