Hi Everyone~
I am really new to romhacking - this is my third day actually. I am looking to translate the game Choujikuu Yousai Macross - Super Dimension Fortress Macross for the PS2.
I've been reading alot of the tutorial materials at romhacking.net - I have also meet someone on their forums that has more or less outlined the process I will need to go through - he suggested that I reach out on these forums for help as well.
I have dumped the contents of the ISO - they look like this.
From my understanding I need to use QuickBMS to brake apart these files even further as they are in essence "zipped" using special encryption by the developer. If that is the case I am hoping someone here can help me open these files up. From my understanding I need a script that will allow me to split apart these files and developers sometimes use the same encryption across multiple games. .
I am looking for the files that contain the text for the game. I understand that the text should be based on a hexadecimal table and that most Japanese games use HIFT-JIS encoding.
Hoping someone here can help me with the next step of the script I need to open this game up.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Re: Choujikuu Yousai Macross - Super Dimension Fortress Macross PS2 Translation Help
it's the CRI ROFs format:
CVM
delete first 0x1800 byte then rename to .iso and open
the bad news, all files use a compress algorithim called CRICMP.
i did a research and so far, no one make any script or tool about it.
