Dynasty Warriors 6 "idx + bin" archive

Post by br4zil »

Hey everyone! After a bit of google i found this site, first time posting here!

I am trying to do a undub for DW6, the black sheep game of the series. I got hold of both the english and the russian releases (the later has the Japanese voices intact), this should relatively "simple" file switch if one can actually open the big "bin" archive that contains most of the game's assets and later repack them.

I saw that people managed to use QuickBMS to unpack and pack stuff from Dynasty Warriors 7 and other Koei Tecmo games that use similar file structure, so i am asking for help on this one!

Gonna post the IDX files here, for both the english and russian versions of the game, in case they are diferent. I also wanna post a link to their respective bin files, in case that helps someone helping me in this endeavor!

IDX are annexed to the post.

*Link to BIN files pending*

Thanks in advance

It's a weird format, apparently different than the one in the scripts dw4 and arslan.
Here I see what it looks like a sequence of entries containing 3 fields where 2 of them are often zero... not much sense.
Anyway the BIN is probably huge so it's better if you upload the two files generated by http://aluigi.org/bms/filecutter.bms

Hey there, with the help of members of the Undub Preservation Project, they figured out how to exchange the Eng files from the russian PC version (JP audio in that one) to the english PC version.

The game is now undubbed, but we are taking it a step further and trying to add the PS3 cutscenes too, since they have a much better quality than the default PC ones.

We are currently trying to figure out a way to mux a .wmv audio (JP audio from PC ver) + a .264 video (PS3 extracted video) in WMV9 codec.
