WRC PKG files

Post by AgentHeX0007 »

The WRC script on the QuickBMS site no longer works with the latest WRC 10 game .PKG files.

Every WRC 10 .PKG file now has the above block identical at the beginning of every chunk file.

As a note they released a demo version of WRC 10 which used the original .PKG format as used in WRC 7/8/9 and the WRC7.bms script worked fine. Now in the retail version of WRC 10 they have changed something to block us from extracting the .PKG files.
I have .exe's of the demo and the retail game and have tried to reverse engineer.
Does anyone have an idea of what they have done?

Thanks in advance

Did you use the script 0.2.1?
I updated it for WRC 10 just few weeks ago

I did not notice that you had updated the WRC 7 script to support WRC 10 :D

I had a feeling that the devs were using a key.

Thanks for all your great work, I hope they do not make it even harder to unpack the files in a future update.
