hey, so i managed to get my hands on a .bin (and .cue) file of a game called daito giken koushiki pachislot simulator: shake II (or just shake II for short). it's a japanese-exclusive game for the PS2 and has no existing scripts for quickbms as far as i can tell. i don't really know much about what engine it was on or any specifics i can't already find through the converted iso file, so i'm kinda stumped on where to go next. tutorials don't seem to be of much help. sorry if i'm a bother for asking, but could someone tell me how to get into the meat of this game?
iso mount contents:
DATA (folder)
MODULES (folder)
OL_MENU.BIN
OL_SK2.BIN
SLPS_204.96
SYSTEM.CNF
i assume i need to get into one of those bin files but i can't figure out how. either that or the data file? inside the data file is afsdata.afs and adxcache.dir.
i don't know if that helps much, but if you need any more information let me know. thanks!

MODULES is a folder with some modules that are loaded by the PS2 at game runtime (like IRX and maybe some ioprp files) i think you dont want to edit these file
SLPS_204.96 is a elf file (i think game launcher)
SYSTEM.CNF is a config file Including video mode and game ver and some other stuff
you need to investigate other files (maybe with hex or file scanner) (also its possible these file are compressed) to find out which archive have the file you need, then try to extract them (with QuickBMS or...)

that's the major problem i got: i have no idea how to read hex. where would i start? i went for xvi32 and quickly realized i have no clue what to look for first.
the things that stood out for me in menu.bin was "MWo3" "Thread name get failed". everything else is gibberish. if you want, i can send you the bin file to look over (if thats allowed), unless it seems too compressed by what little info i'm saying.

sure thing. you mean the file names or some of the code from them? the strings in the hex editor also seems to be mostly illegible
either way here's the file names:
ADXCACHE.DIR
AFSDATA.AFS
im really grateful you guys are actually helping me instead of telling me to come back once i learn how to read hex. although now im kind of interested in learning... ill check the tutorials and whatnot when i got free time

you need to upload the files for download.

Re: daito giken koushiki pachi-slot simulator: SHAKE II (help?)
thanks for the response! these scripts have been really helpful.
ive tried both on the .afs file in question--the first one helped the most i think, but now there's a bunch of .bin files within that afs file. most of the videos and songs were successfully ripped, but some were missing, specifically the "we are the monsters" bonus video and the SHAKE style big bonus videos... of course, im looking for one of the SHAKE videos.
interestingly enough, these videos all have one thing in common which is that they're all purely in 2d, but all the music videos are prerendered and ripped out of a slot machine so i don't see why that would have anything to do with why those files in particular are missing.
still, making great progress--i wasn't expecting to nab so many of these videos in one file so that was sweet B)
also sorry for the misunderstanding--here's the .afs file: https://mega.nz/file/h8gEEaZT#YChPZfwH5 ... YCPPzMd940
the video im looking for in particular is this one: https://youtu.be/sCyrxrPelhk but without the overlay. i was able to get it to play ingame successfully so it shouldn't be missing or anything. i'd just do a video capture but everything in the game's gallery is locked and im not sure how to unlock them, nor am i good at slots in general lol
