PK obb file

Post by iii23 »

So, I found an obb to a tower defense game on android, and after using a hex editor on it, the header is "PK". I can simply rename it to .zip and extract, but is PK any special kind of compression? When u revompile it the obb is missing 200 out of 700 kilobytes approximately. I hope its something bms can handle.

It's all normal. ZIP archives are compressed and therefore their new size may differ than the one you extracted the content from, even if the content is the same.

note that making or importng files by zip tools, archibve details will change too, such as partion flag or time stamp or comment, as far as I know, some games checking that flags, so that could be the problem and game can't read modifieded obb

@Shokoniraya
I guess iii23 meant he edited the ZIP (OBB) by using a normal archiver, not quickbms obviously
