Potbs - Pirates of the burning sea .Pig files

Post by noniac »

hi aluigi,

I think no one has asked for this game at least in this forum. I have dug very deep in the internet and found literally nothing but people asking here and there if X tool could open pigs from potbs or ships.pig (where the ships models are stored). The few models which i have seen outside the game in free mods for other pirate themed games i think were given by the actual modelers from the game. I can safely say there is no public way of getting into these files other than ninjaripping what you can from the ingame rendering (you cant freely view models in this game, not the ships).

Ive tried every tool and every script which could remotely open pig files, 0 luck

Can you take a look at the damn ships.pig? is this file type from this game so hard to decode?

link (400mb, yeah, ships models): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LTPCMZ ... sp=sharing

thanks, I hope i dont end up lost like those asking for someway of extracting the models

Thats great man, but another decoder got them first, i've ran into the second and final problem i think not even you can manage to solve, the damn .IGB format. Its the one the alchemy engine uses, you might be familiar with it, other games use it too and everybody seems to fear that format because its as stated by others, nearly impossible to decode, or at least, a very very complex scene graph. I managed to get my hands on some old demo of the alchemy engine dev kit and could open a few models, no ships though, but yeah, i dont think you can get anything out of it so ill pass posting anything here, still, if you want to give it a try tell me and ill send you the files of kit or you could just get the igbs out from the pig i posted and try it, ive already lost hope on getting any model out of this game, and what pisses me off more is that i cannot use ninja ripper cause you cant freely view ship models, you have to buy them ingame, and its just a *SPAM* paywall upon a paywall with this

Any chance you can make it work with Magic Legends Files? So we can get a Database running?

Some Files don't work. Some work. I tried every Hogg Extractor / Python etc. but this 2 files refuse to be extracted.
