I want to unwrap graphic data. Can someone advise me?

Post by bashil7 »

Hi. I am trying to remake a retro rpg game from DOS ~ win95 era. I am trying to purchase "rpg maker tool mx".
At first, the original game was driven by DOS box, taking screenshots and using graphic data, but it was too much, and many frames torment me.
So, can you unpack the original game's graphic data? I thought. This is by no means for commercial use and respects the creators of this game. That's why I thought I would like to remake something like an indie game.
I tried all of the various unpack tools I found on the internet. However, the game I have was so minor that I couldn't solve some tools downloaded from the web.
I tried to open the Hax data of a file, so I succeeded in viewing text data(EUC_KR), but failed to get graphic data.
The question I want to ask is, is it realistically possible to open this data?
My skill is a bit of web design, and I am not a professional programmer. That's why I want to get help.

Attached are screenshots of the game and some files that are supposed to be graphics data files.
This game uses 320x240 resolution.
It is also executed based on DOS, and when using the screenshot function in the game, it is saved as a pcx file. It is also supported to install and run on Windows 95. (Requires Directx 5)
