Raving Rabbids: Travel in Time .bf files.

Post by Wickershamleader »

Hello!

I am currently attempting to rip the music from Raving Rabbids, Travel in Time. I have managed to find the .bf files where I believe the audio is.
The one that has video files extracts perfectly, but the one with audio doesn't seem to extract anything but nonsense wav files that can't be played.
If anyone has any idea of what could be causing this or if it could be fixed, let me know. I've been using the Tintin script, but I have a feeling it needs to be edited to get the audio.

RxN.wii.wav.bf

Thank you very much for your time.

So, an update and a bump.

I've tried extracting repeatedly from the archive using various .bms scripts. Unfortunately, none of them seem to work, however, I can tell that there is actual files there. The .wav files which are being extracted do contain audio data if played using Raw Data in Audacity. This leads me to believe that the script needs to be edited so that it can extract the audio properly, and not like it's dumping a bunch of useless files.

For some reason, the bik video files from a different .bf archive in the game files do extract properly and I can watch them in any video player with no issues, utilizing the tintin script.

This is the error I get in Quickbms.

Error: incomplete input file 0: (Location)\RxN.wii.wav.bf
Can't read 914167805 bytes from offset 281b6106.
Anyway don't worry, it's possible that the BMS script has been written
to exit in this way if it's reached the end of the archive so check it
or contact its author or verify that all the files have been extracted.
Please check the following coverage information to know if it's ok.

coverage file 0 156% 1050286887 672882950 . offset 281b6106

Last script line before the error or that produced the error:
61 clog NAME OFFSET ZSIZE SIZE

If anyone at all can help I would really appreciate it.

Nevermind! I found the solution! Quickbms on its own can't extract the audio properly! I needed to use a program called VGMGUI to take the extracted files and convert them!
Hopefully someone else needs this info, years later or something.

BF files are BigFiles, looking at other games using the LyN engine proves it.
