[SOLVED] REZ Files Opening from No One Lives Forever 1
Hi everyone !
I'm currently testing the XeNTaX Multi EX Commander (a really great software who work great on lot of games).
I got an issue with the REZ file (LITH_PS2.REZ) of No one Lives Forever 1 (PS2 Version).
I can extract manually by hex editing files but not with this software. The software "freeze".
I need all voices files from the PS2 REZ file to replace them in the PC port. Theses files in the REZ are exactly the same as PC port.
The PS2 port is the only version who have french voices. The PC port has only english voices.
The files between the two version (PS2/PC) are identical in formats and have same names !
The REZ file of the PC port works fine on the software.
The PS2 REZ structure is similar (but with some differences).
So maybe this REZ is not supported yet by this software, can someone check if it's not supported ?
It would be cool if someone can support theses on the software !
LITH_PS2.REZ (No One Lives Forever) :

For faster download : LITH_PS2.REZ (7zip compressed 1,40gb only !)

Thanks a lot for the software by the way

Aluigi already made a script for REZ (No one lives forever): https://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/xentax_cs/No_One_Lives_Forever_REZ.bms

I can now download it.
But it's not working
I got " Multiex 3 could not process, error 18".
Can you try it on your side with the LITH_PS2.REZ ?

It's a QuickBMS script. You need to run it through QuickBMS.

Can you look about DRAGON1 & DRAGON2 ?
It's almost the same structure as BIGFILE of Cryo Interactive (which are already supported).
All files are there, but seems like the audio for some stuff is another type of format and all merged into one file for streaming the audio.
Skate 1,2,3 do a similar thing with the audio.

Do you think it will be possible to extract it anyway ?

Re: [ISSUE] REZ Files Opening from No One Lives Forever 1
I'm not much motivated at downloaded almost 4Gb from mega.nz (which isn't a direct download).
Can you use the following script on that file?
http://aluigi.org/bms/filecutter.bms
open it with a text editor and replace:
math MEGABYTES = 2
with
math MEGABYTES = 20
Then upload the 2 files it generates where you prefer, it's faster for us to download.

Re: [ISSUE] REZ Files Opening from No One Lives Forever 1
Here is a script + Batch file for the DRAGON files and also an automated batch file + Aluigi's REZ script for the REZ files.
Just put the dragon1 / dragon2 files in the folder and run the batch file called "EXTRACT_TRIG(DRAGON).bat" to extract them.
Same for REZ files, but run the "EXTRACT_REZ.bat" instead.
File is attached.
Edit: Just tested it on DRAGON2 and it doesn't work, because the file is basically just the other half of the DRAGON1 file.
Will fix that in a minute. I completely misread the file haha. almost fixed. I thought TRIG was the magic, but it was a file x)
Edit2: Updated the script to work on all DRAGON files properly and exit cleanly.
Edit3: Updated AGAIN because I forgot to rename the script the in batch file.
NOW it all works

Thanks guys for your answer.
Hi aluigi ! Thanks for your answer !
Here is it :
https://we.tl/t-dBU9h0t0QW
Contains :
- LITH_PS2.REZ_0_3930056704
- LITH_PS2.REZ_3909085184_3930056704
@GHFEAR,
Thanks a lot for your work !
For No One Lives Forever REZ file, i still only got musics tracks and no sounds effects and no voices.
Voices and sounds effects are stored in this file. Maybe compressed ?

@GHFEAR,
Thanks a lot for your work !
This script extract data from DRAGON1, but not everything, all in-game texts are not extracted.
Normally it's almost like Atlantis The Lost Tales. It's seems some part are not correctly extracted.
In this extract i got :
- All voices
- All HMN (cinematics files)
For No One Lives Forever REZ file, i still only got musics tracks and no sounds effects and no voices.
Voices and sounds effects are stored in this file. Maybe compressed ?
New DRAGON script should work properly.
Download the 1.1 unpacker in the comment above.
If anything is missing, it's just not there. Everything is unpacked.
Edit: lemme make a SECOND fix... -.- I am stupid. I renamed the files, so they won't read now haha.
NOW it works. Download it again. ^^

@GHFear, huge thanks !!
Do you know if for No One Live Forever PS2 REZ, voices can be extracted using tools you have or it's compressed and too difficult to extract ?
Anyway, a big thanks for your answers and work.

Indeed everything seems to be extracted for Dragon Lore Gold.

I am not sure about the voices and such. After extracting the REZ archive, you get 2 LARGE audio files with the extension 7777, auto generated by quickbms. But they are RIFF audio files. But I don't see a header I recognize. What you should do is to upload the smaller of the 2 files that was like 200mb on MEGA and link it in the "Audio and Video file formats" section of the forum so people can look at it. I don't know much about audio myself sadly.

For DRAGON i found where the texts are extracted it's "DRAGENG.BIN" in the root of OUTPUTDRAGON1.

It uses non padded offsets, so you can probably edit them in hexeditor and use REIMPORT2 option to append the files to the end of the file even if they are larger in size. Try it.

I just tried :

- REIMPORT mode enabled!
- remember to select the SAME script, file and folder you selected during
the previous extraction
- it's highly suggested to leave only the edited files in the folder, it's
faster and less prone to errors with compressed files
- open input file D:\Jeux\QuickBMS\REZ Unpacker\DRAGON1
- open script DRAGON.bms
- set output folder OUTPUTDRAGON1
offset filesize filename

- 0 files reimported in 0 seconds
- 1647 files or logs left original, not available in the folder
coverage file 0 0% 63935 610662512 . offset 000000000000a0f5
It can't import anything.
I have changed all voices by french voices (same names) in the folder OUTPUDRAGON1/LE

Here is a new download with batch scripts for autoreimport to for all modes. Mode 1 and 2.
For both REZ and DRAGON.
Just unpack the files, let them all stay in their original position in the unpacked folder after you mod them and then just double click the reimport mode you want to use. it should reimport automatically, and if you have more than 1 DRAGON or REZ file, it will ask you to click RETURN or ENTER after the first reimport to continue to the next one.

I works but some voices files are bigger than originals. I think i need to compress then with a Audio Converter software.
A big thanks
