Re: [REQ] Tales of Berseria Official version
Hello! Not going to lie, I'm new to all this.
I managed to use your script to extract the files, no problem.
Now what I'm a bit lost about is what to do with all the files I extracted. I'm looking for the image files-- character cut-ins, mugshots, etc. It's my first time ripping a Tales games, so I'm not sure what folder this is traditionally in and what extractor/converter to use for the I presume .dat files.
Any quick pointers?

Apparently Berseria has been cracked by CPY. Would that make it possible to reimport? I'm interested in replacing the music, and perhaps the censored cutscene.

No, god damn CPY. Buy the game for developers.

^I did buy it. But I'd still like to be able to modify it.

Re: [REQ] Tales of Berseria Official version
I could do exactly that, but at this point I don`t really care anymore. So I just pirate the damn thing anyways for whatever purposes that fits my schedule. I mean, It`s not like the game will punish me just because I got a pirated copy, right?sigroon365 wrote:mugwhump wrote:Apparently Berseria has been cracked by CPY. I don't like those of people who do not buy the game and play it for free.

The game won't exist anymore if you have that attitude. Buying the game is the only way for said game to exist.

Please guys let's stay on topic avoiding opinions about piracy and other things not related to the technical aspects of the topic.

Guys, let`s just think about this.chrrox wrote:The game won't exist anymore if you have that attitude. Buying the game is the only way for said game to exist.
Imagine a scenario that takes place several years later(about 15 years later to be exact), back when nobody cares about the game anymore, therefore a few copies are said to "exist". Can you at least see several copies of the game being sold on eBay? If sold, then how are you going to risk your money just for buying that copy of the game? If not, then how the hell are you going to get the game from several years ago that you want so much? Think about how is the game going to be available within that timeframe I just proposed.
The reason I practice piracy is because I think about the future of distribution if said game isn`t on digital distribution sites or if it ceases to exist within those sites(as it often happens with Steam, or so I heard). Just think about a game that was released for PC but isn`t available on Steam or GOG.com, let alone a physical release of it.
I have a choice. You don`t.

참 말도 되지도 않는 논리로 불법 복제를 옹호하다니 어처구니가 없네.
네놈의 말도 안되는 사상을 나에게 강요하지 마라.
And I don't want to talk about it anymore. I will not reply to this kind of subject.

You`re old enough to resort to this kind of behaviour. Just saying.
Also I won`t talk with people who can`t keep their language consistent.

Oh, the one who follow forum rule, but not buy the game? Really ridiculous. Let's drop it.

Sure, I might be breaking a rule here, but I`m not talking about the games of today that still get distributed in both digital and physical form. I`m talking about games whose availability are getting more scarce as time goes on, but also the possibility that the game you might own from Steam will mysteriously disappear from that "digital distribution site" with no way of regaining it back.sigroon365 wrote:Oh, the one who follow forum rule, but not buy the game? There is a reason why I dig up games older than 5 years, sometimes even more. And it`s not just the PC version of these games either, that is not my focus.

There is also a burning question asked by our fans that we want to answer. Will Tales of Berseria have Denuvo on STEAM? The answer is yes.
We love the community: it is you guys that ensure that we continually bring more Tales games out, and to a high caliber. It wouldn’t be fair to you if we didn’t put any systems in place to prevent people who try to acquire the game through illegitimate means as it eventually will slow us down bringing games onto PC. Denuvo has been proven to be a reliable way to fight piracy. So far, no conclusive evidence is proven to disrupt the player experience.
Tales of Berseria will have a demo available on January 10th for both STEAM and PS4 that will allow you to try the game for free before acquiring it. We hope you will enjoy it and join us for the release on January 27th!

What you said doesn't related with this topic. Do not advocate pirate and hire a lawyer if you have a complaint for that issue.

But trying to use that script on the PS3 version obviously doesn't work. I tried tweaking it to work without referencing the TOFHDA but no luck.
Anyone have any ideas how to get the JP version dumped?
Are you Japanese? If you want it, I can make it for you.

Wow! fantastic work on the korean! I'm so excited that you are willing to help me. Yes please do! Maybe you could teach me the steps of how you did it if you get it working? I'm very interested in learning how this stuff works. To answer your question, personally, I'm not Japanese, but I'm learning the language, and games are a fun way to keep learning while having fun.

Re: [REQ] Tales of Berseria Official version
Unfortunately the script is not valid for reimporting for multiple reasons: memory files, decrypt-only function, CRC values, chunks and so on... yeah a nightmare for the reimporting feature of quickbms.
Have you already checked if the game can load external non-archived files and other solutions?
